ENGINEERING – FILTERED WATER EXPANSION

PROJECT NAME

Filtered Water Expansion Case Study: Our client required an increase the filtered water capacity for the entire plant from 800gpm to 1200gpm due to production demands. At the start of the project, the water supply loop created a bottle neck at the client’s batching operation when all production lines were running. This caused the client to take over (1) hour to produce a batch that would be consumed by the production line in 10 minutes.

OMS was contracted for a full turn-key project to increase the plants filtered water capacity and modify the water supply line to remediate the bottleneck at their batching operation.
This project took a total of 4 months from conception to completion.

The project scope of work included:

  • Detailed Process Engineering Design and Development
  • Sourcing of new
  • Backflow Preventers
  • Sediment Filteration
  • Service Pumps
  • Carbon Tower with new polishing filters
  • UV Water Disinfection System
  • Modulating Ball Valves for Dynamic water supply based on plant demands
  • SS Sanitary piping for the entire client water room
  • New independent water supply manifold from water room to clients batching area

After project completion we successfully increased the clients water capacity, removed all bottlenecks related to water supply, and cut down the clients batching time by more than half.

MANUFACTURING. OPTIMIZED.
